About the Suktam

The Medha Suktam (मेधासूक्तम्) is found in the Taittiriya Aranyaka (Chapter 10), which forms part of the Mahanarayana Upanishad. It is the foremost Vedic hymn dedicated to the invocation of Medha — divine intelligence, retentive memory, sharp understanding, and the power of wisdom.

The Devata is Medha, identified with Saraswati and the illuminating power of the mind. The hymn invokes Indra, Varuna, Agni, Vayu, Prajapati, and Dhata to bestow intelligence upon the seeker.
